High Vibrational Ethnobotanicals
We are not just sellers of ethnobotanicals. We live in the jungle with our children and work together with different indigenous tribes: Quechua, Huaorani, Chachi and Shuar. We encourage and support people and healers from around the world to become and stay healthy – physically, mentally and spiritually by using natural remedies. We believe that high vibrational ethnobotanicals can help us greatly.
The people in Ecuador have a long tradition of ayahuasca ceremonies. However they have never grown the plants on a large scale. The Quechua people plant for their own use in their chacras (forest gardens). In close cooperation with the members of the communities we decided to join forces and grow an extensive stock of sacred tools on their ancestral lands.
Fair Trade Guidelines
At the moment we have a cooperation with (and commitment to) 27 families who grow chacruna, chaliponga, guayusa, bobinsana and caapi. We pay them a fair price, according to fair trade guide lines.
We started Waking Herbs project with several missions; fair trade and sustainability. We truly believe in cutting out the middlemen as much as possible. We deal with the indigenous people themselves. In this way we can keep the energetic level of the plants as high as possible.
Preserve Culture and Land
Besides we try to create a means of income for the tribe members. Many of them are tempted to work in the cities, in the mining industry or mono culture farming. By providing them an alternative income we hope they can remain in their communities and preserve their culture and land.
Yes we are a commercial enterprise, but with ideals. We don’t care about fancy cars, high incomes or luxury goods. A big part of the profit is set apart so we can invest in buying land in Ecuador to create a buffer and safe haven for animals and plants. Other ideas are evolving and enhold a school where kids learn to live in nature and care for it.
We are honoured and grateful that by supporting our project you are part of our mission and help us grow and reach our goals.
Many blessings from Ecuador and Holland
